Societal Empowerment of Divorced Women in Some Villages of Ashmoun District, Menoufia Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the societal empowerment degree of the respondents from rural divorced women in general and identify the sources of their societal empowerment, as well as to determine the relationship between the studied independent variables for the respondents and their societal empowerment degree in general and to identify the obstacles they face and limit their societal empowerment and their suggestions to overcome them. The research was conducted on a sample of 142 individuals in the selected villages of the Ashmoun district in Menoufia Governorate. Data was collected during October and November 2024 with the help of some women who were well trained on the questionnaire by personal interview with the respondents in the research area, and then they were discharged and analyzed statistically with appropriate statistical methods using the SPSS program. The most important results were as follows:
- More than half of the respondents (52.8%) have an average level of societal empowerment overall.
- The most important sources that help the respondents in activating their societal empowerment in general were the family and the youth center. 
- There was a positive correlation between some of the studied variables of the respondents and their societal empowerment degree in general.
