Abstract

The research aims to evaluate the financial performance of Egyptian food manufacturing companies. The results indicate that the private sector outperforms in managing production capacities, with idle capacities reaching 14.9% in the public sector compared to 10.75% in the private sector. Despite the private sector's superiority in asset management and sales performance, it faces greater marketing challenges and struggles more with meeting financial obligations compared to the public business sector, which demonstrated a higher ability to achieve operating profits but suffers from greater financial distress in debt repayment.
The research recommends addressing the marketing challenges faced by private sector projects, improving financial liquidity and sustainability in the private sector, analyzing regulatory policies affecting the financial performance structure of the Egyptian food manufacturing sector—particularly focusing on tax exemptions and their impact on business performance—enhancing production efficiency in the public business sector through modernizing production lines and adopting advanced manufacturing technologies, and strengthening partnerships between the private and public business sectors.
