Obstacles to Farmers Using the Smart Farmer Card in their Agricultural Transactions in Sanhour Village, Desouk District, Kafr El Sheikh Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the obstacles to using of the smart farmer card by the respondents in their agricultural transactions in relation to the extension work environment, Internet, computer, farmers, and workers in the agricultural associations. This research was conducted on a random sample of 354 respondents from lists of farmers holding the smart farmer card in agricultural association in Sanhour Village. Data was collected during May 2024 through a questionnaire. Frequencies, percentages, weighted arithmetic mean, simple correlation coefficient, and chi-square were used in the statistical analysis.
Most important results were: The most important obstacle related to the work environment is the lack of connection of the majority of agricultural associations to Internet with a weighted average of 2.66, and related to workers in the agricultural associations is the weakness of the English language among the majority of agricultural workers by 2.31 and related to Internet is high costs of connecting to the Internet by 2.30, and related to computer is lack of a technician to maintain computer in agricultural associations by 2.57 and related to the farmers is the lack of awareness of the farmers of the importance of using the smart farmer card in their agricultural transactions by 2.28, and related to technology is the inability to absorb the technology process by 2.30.
