Abstract

The study analyzed the impact of economic freedom in enhancing food security indicators in Kenya for the period (2012-2022). The study problem lies in the extent of the impact of economic freedom on food security in Kenya, by achieving the following sub-goals: enhancing economic growth, raising the standard of living, integrating Kenya into the global economy and expanding into foreign markets, promoting agricultural production, facilitating trade in agricultural products, ensuring the sustainability of food supplies, and thereby achieving food security. The study was conducted using a series of tests, including: stability tests through the augmented Dickey-Fuller model, and then highlighting the prominent role of long-term and short-term characteristics between the study variables represented in: cointegration test, Vector Error Correction Model, and then the model validity test through the unit root test, the presence of one cointegrated vector of order zero, and the long-term parameters of the error correction vector model indicated a significant positive relationship between the study variables forming the econometric model, while the short-term parameters indicated a lack of significant short-term equilibrium between the study variables, as their significance levels appeared greater than the 5% significance level.
