Strategic Planning For Agricultural Cooperatives Using The Environmental Analysis Model (SWOT) in Sharkia Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to: Analyze current and hoped-for situation of agricultural cooperative societies in Sharkia Governorate, and policies to eliminate diverse performance using “SWOT” analysis. Data was collected from 95 agricultural cooperative societies in Zagazig, Al-Husseiniyah, and Ibrahimiyya centers. Data was collected with a questionnaire during from October until December 2023, The data were analyzed using frequency, ratio, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and relative mean. The results reached are: The most important strategies that support strengths of agricultural cooperative societies are strengthening the application of laws and administrative aspects to protect agricultural land, while implementing the laws of compulsory supply of some strategic agricultural crops as a source of improving association’s revenues. issuing smart farmer card and electronic transactions for easy access to the services of agricultural cooperative society. Also research indicate to Preparing cadres of rural youth who can develop cooperatives and activating cooperative training, as agricultural cooperative society is distinguished by applying regulations and laws to conduct work within it. It’s necessary to seek to stimulate the generation of self-financing for agricultural cooperative society by exploiting availability of environmental resources that support agricultural cooperative society’s establishment of agricultural and service projects. Working to raise efficiency of extension services provided by agricultural cooperative societies by activating contract farming laws and implementing the compulsory supply of some strategic agricultural crops. Working to maintain and improve infrastructure of Agricultural Cooperative Society including stores, buildings and furniture through establishing agricultural projects as a source of improving Agricultural Cooperative Society’s revenues.
