Social protection programs and their relationship to the quality of life of rural families in one of the villages of the Delingat District - Beheira Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the level of economic and social quality of life among the respondents in the study-village after they benefited from social protection programs, and to identify the most important characteristics of social protection programs, and the relationship of the studied independent variables to the overall level of quality of life of the respondents after they benefited from social protection programs. The research was conducted on a sample of 120 respondents from heads of households of both genders in the village of Al-Messin, Al-Delngat  District in Al-Beheira Governorate.. The data was collected using a questionnaire form, and after collecting the data, it was transcribed and statistically analyzed using numerical count tables, percentages, Pearson's simple correlation coefficient, and the Chi-square test.
The most important results were as follows:

The vast majority of respondents’ knowledge of the social protection programs studied was high, and their level of benefit from the programs was average.
Half of the respondents (50%) came in the high level category with regard to their level of quality of life after benefiting from social protection programs in general.
There is a significant relationship between the following variables: age, cultural openness, educational status, work status, benefit from social protection programs, the number of years of receiving support from social protection programs, exposure to sources of obtaining information about social protection programs, and the overall level of quality of life. For the respondents after they benefited from social protection programs.
