Marketing efficiency of the most important medicinal and aromatic plants in Fayoum Governorate

Abstract

The current study aims to estimate the marketing margins for the most important medicinal and aromatic plants in Fayoum Governorate, as it becomes clear that the chamomile is one of the most important medicinal and aromatic plants crops in Fayoum Governorate with a relative importance of about 55.9%, followed by marjoram by 11%, then municipal mint by 8%, then caraway 5.9 %, then pepper by 4.8%, then fennel by 4.6%, then calendula by 3.6%, then lemon grass by 2%, then basil by 1.4%, as it was found from the study that the marketing margin between the farm price and the retail price of the wormwood and chamomile crop amounted to 15,000 pounds. / ton, by estimating the marketing efficiency of the crop, it turns out that it reached about 29.87%, while it was found that the marketing margin between the farm price and the retail price of the mint crop reached 18,000 pounds / ton, and by estimating the marketing efficiency of the crop, it became clear that it reached about 7.79%, while the margin Shopping between the farm price and the retail price of the calendula crop has reached 7000 pounds / ton, and by estimating the marketing efficiency of the crop, it is clear that it has reached about 23.3%, and the marketing margins are considered high and this leads to a high consumer price and a decrease in the farmer’s share.
