The study aims at studying the status of the Egyptian foreign trade and some factors influencing the Egyptian potato exports. The results of the study showed that the potato cultivated area is the most effective factor to influence the a mount of potato exports. An increase in the cultivated area by one thousand feddan will lead to an increase in the exported quantity by 1520 Ton. The results also indicated that export price is the most effective factor on the value of potato exports. By studying the competitive status of Egyptian exports it is declared that the relative price in dollars per ton of potato exports has reached an upper limit of about 93.7% of the world price in 1997 and a lower limit about 72.7% of the world price in 1990 which means that there is a price advantage for the Egyptians potato exports. The Egyptian potato exports in faced by some trade and technical barriers. The study recommendation stresses on the following points: 1- The search for new export markets of the Egyptian potato. 2- More attention for the stability and continuity of the exported quantities in the export markets through maintaining stability of the production and meeting the required quality standards in foreign markets.
