Abstract

The mainly goal of this study is the recognition on environmental
awareness for farmers’ sons in the region of Algabal Alakhdar-Libya,
whatever it is knowledge or implementation, from the point of environment
maintenance from pollution, factors affecting on this awareness, and the effect
of the studied variables on the level of their environmental awareness.
A systematic sample with a size of 362 researched individuals
distributed in five regions (Table 1) was taken, data were collected through
questionnaire with personal interview during April and May-2006.
The researchers used frequency tables, percentages, simple correlation
coefficient, K2, and multiple regression in data analysis.
The results showed that more than half of the researched individuals had
medium knowledge level in the practices of environment maintenance
(55.5%), and low implementation level.
The results indicated that (59.4%) of the researched were of medium
environmental awareness in the field of environment maintenance from
pollution.
The results also showed a significant relationship at 0.01 between the
degree of the environmental awareness and each of educational level, the
degree of cosmopolite, knowledge sources, and perception of region problems.
These variables interpretated (32%) of the variance in the researched
individuals awareness degree by environment maintenance from pollution.
