Performance of Agricultural Extension Workers To The Some Extension Activities In Elbeida City- Libya

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the Performance of Agricultural Extension
personnel to some Extension activities and determining some variables
explaining the variance of dependent variable, also identify Agricultural
Extension personnel degree of Performance concerning Extension activities
and to study the relationship between their degree of Performance level and
some independent variables.
The study were conducted in elbeida city on sample 50 of Agricultural
Extension personnel randomly chosen equal to about 50 percent of their
population. Data were collected using A specially designed questionnaire
through personal interviews. A pretest was conducted in Shhaat city on a
sample of 15 Agricultural Extension personnel, percentage, average, simple
correlation co- efficient and step wise were used for data analysis.
The results indicated the following:
- Performance level of Extension personnel was middle of the Extension
activities.
- A relationship at 0.05 level of significance was found between the degree of
Extension personnel Performance to the Extension activities related to
planning and evaluation Extension programs and educational qualification,
also was significance relationship at 0.01 level between the degree of
Extension personnel Performance to the Extension activities with origin of
respondent.
- There was positive significance relationship at 0.01 between the degree of
Extension personnel Performance to the Extension activities related to
planning and evaluation Extension programs and service of Agricultural
Extension work, degree of contact with information resources, also was
positive significance relationship at 0.05 level to cosmopolite, according to
step wise the degree of contact with information resources, and service of
Agricultural Extension work contribute interpreting the variance in degree
of Extension personnel Performance to the Extension activities related to
planning and evaluation Extension programs (21.2%).
- A relationship at 0.05 level of significance was found between the degree of
Extension personnel Performance to the Extension activities concerning
deal of farmers interest, problems and educational level. according to step < br />wise service of Agricultural Extension work and service of Agricultural
sector, were contribute interpreting the variance in degree of Extension
personnel Performance to the Extension activities concerning deal of
farmers interest, problems (31.6%).
- in addition the results indicated that the Agricultural Extension personnel
knowledge sources, arranged according to their importance included
pamphlet, supervisors, co-workers, scientific books.
