A study of the impact of some personal, social and economic characteristics on farmers' attitudes towards Agricultural work in the regions of Wasta and Garnada in Jabal Al-Akhdar - Libya

Abstract

This study has been emphasized on farmers attitudes towards agricultural
work. The main objectives of this study has been formulated to study farmers
characteristics and effect on farmers attitude towards agricultural work. Also
to figure out a productive equation for each variable which has shown some
impact on farmers attitudes towards agricultural work. A sample of 80 farmers
was chosen randomly from the total numbers of farmers belong to the Qurnada
and western region.The data was selected through personal interview with
each respondent by using a questionnaire. Many statistical techniques has been
used to retain or reject the hypothesis. The main finding of this study were:
1- There is negative significant relationship at 0.05level between family size,
farm man power and farmers attitude towards agricultural works.
2- There is a positive significant relationship at 0.05 level between farm size,
income, family equipment and farmers attitude towards agricultural work.
4- There is no significant deference between mean score of negative and
positive farmers attitude towards agricultural work.
5- There is no significant relationship at 0.05 level between farmer age, family
size, farmer education, family education, farm man power, farm size income,
family equipment, farm machinery urban contact, crops knowledge, and
farmers negative and positive attitudes towards agricultural work.
