RURAL YOUTH PRACTIC OF CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOUR IN A VILLAGE IN FAYOUM GOVERNORATE

Abstract

The study aimed basically to determine the level of rural youth practicing of
citizenship behavior in the study area, constructing and testing a causal model of the
relationship between the level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behavior and
some studied variables, identifying the direct and indirect effects of the studied
variables on the variation of the level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behavior
and finally identifying the most important obstacles of the rural youth practicing of
citizenship behavior and the respondents suggestions for facing them. The empirical
data used in the study were collected from 300 rural youth in the villages of
ALgarq,Manshiet Abdal Majeed, AL Garq Qabaly and Daniel in Etsa district,
Fayoum governorate.
The findings provided an empirical evidence of the validity of the proposed
model. There were direct and indirect significant effects of the following variables on
the level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behavior: age, the number of years of
formal education, the degree of attension of problems and societal issues, leadership < br />level, cultural openness and achievement motivation. Based upon the study findings,
a number of theoretical and applied implications were presented and discussed.
