The Productive Activities of Rural Woman for Increasing Family Icome in Some Villages – Sharkia Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the productive activities of rural
woman for increasing family icome in the fields of agricultural operations,
home hand–crafts, animal husbandry, and poultry.
The research was conducted at three villages in Fakos district with a sample
size of 323 respondents. Data were collected by a questionnaire through
personal interview. Pearson correltion coefficient, multiple regressions (step –
Wise) were used for data analysing.
The research revealed the following results:
- Productive Activities level of agricultural operation was low, while it
was high in the field of animal husbandry, and moderate in home hand crafts.
- Woman satisfaction regarding puplic services, years of agriculture
experience, and holding of home sets were the most important variables which
explain the variation of the role of woman in Productive Activities.
- The most important problems hindering the Productive Activities of
rural woman to increase family income were : marketing difficulties, lack of
finance.
- The most important suggestions for activating the Productive Activities
were improving women skills through training programs, increasing the
awareness of rural woman suitable small projects.
