Abstract
The milk sector is one of the most important pillars of the animal production sector in Egypt, as this activity has achieved about 23 billion pounds representing about 24.91% of the total value of livestock production in 2018, and that the value of dairy in the new land amounted to about 2.69 billion pounds, equivalent to about 6.91% of the value of the dairy sector in Egypt, which amounts to about 38.94 billion pounds in the same year, and aims to measure the efficiency and economic of the dairy farms of the Nobaria to determine The extent of the efficiency of investment and continuity in this activity has reached several results, the most important of which are:
Milking livestock production decreased at a rate of about 31.96 thousand tons per year and at a change rate of about 0.59% of the annual average of about 5,383,000 tons of milking dairy production during the study period.
- The net return (POUND/head) for the total sample study of dairy farms of cows and buffaloes in Nobaria was about 10824.3, 14084.5 pounds each respectively, and reached the highest in the third production capacity followed by the second and then the first with an average of 12,770, 10442.6, 9260.2 pounds in production capacities for dairy production from cows respectively. Also, the average age is about 19,304.3, 12,662.7, 10,285.5 pounds in production capacities for buffalo dairy production, respectively.
-The ratio of total revenue for the total cost of the study sample was about 1.7, 1.8 each respectively, and was higher in the third production capacity followed by the second and then the initial with an average of about 1.9, 1.7, and 1.6 for dairy production from cows, respectively. Also, the average is about 2.2, 1.7, 1.6 for buffalo dairy production respectively and the third most efficient production capacity according to this standard.
- The profitability of the pound for the total sample study of dairy farms of cows and buffaloes in Nobaria amounted to about 0.7, 0.8 pounds each respectively, and reached the highest in the third production capacity followed by the second and then the initial with an average of about 0.9, 0.7, 0.6 pounds in production capacities for dairy production from Cows in order. Also, the average is about 1.2, 0.7, 0.6 pounds for buffalo dairy production respectively and the third most efficient production capacity according to this standard.
-It turns out that the sensitivity of the net yield to a ton of dairy in the total sample study of cows and buffalo milking for the decrease in revenue was higher than if it increased.
-The sensitivity of the net yield to a ton of dairy in the total sample study of cows and milking buffaloes to increase costs was more than if they were reduced .
Through the results, the study reached these recommendations:
- Support and development of dairy production projects in the new land areas to achieve capacity savings economies by supporting investments in dairy production as it is highly economically efficient.
- Increasing revenues and reducing costs by various capacities in dairy farms by adopting a strategy of using modern breeding methods and improving the genetic characteristics of the dairy herd and intensive production of specialized farms depending on high-production cows.
